DRI FAQs

DRI Digital Badges for Certified Professionals

DRI Certified Professionals are recognized, respected and valued in the business continuity profession globally, yet seamlessly communicating the true value of DRI certification can sometimes be challenging. Now, when you become certified at DRI, you will be able to easily and quickly share verified proof wherever and whenever you choose.

Representing your DRI certification as a digital badge gives DRI Certified Professionals a way to share their skillset, accomplishments and expertise in the profession online in a way that is simple, trusted and can be easily verified in real time. Badges provide employers and peers concrete evidence of what you had to do to earn your certification and what you’re now capable of.

DRI badges are:

  • sharable on any digital platform: social media, email signature, embedded in your résumé, or the web.
  • authenticated by DRI International and trusted by employers, colleagues and industry peers.
  • a single source that combines your credentials and provides a complete overview of your skills.

How it Works

  1. Once your certification application has been approved, you will receive an email notifying you to claim your badge at our partner Credly's website.
  2. Click the link in that email.
  3. Create an account on the Credly site if you do not already have one and confirm your email.
  4. Claim your badge.
  5. Start sharing your accomplishments!

DRI Digital Badge Program FAQs

What is an open badge?

Open badges are web-enabled versions of a credential, certification or learning outcome which can be verified in real-time, online.

How do I earn a DRI badge?

Once your DRI certification is approved, you will automatically earn a badge associated with the certification. You will receive an email notification from our digital badging partner Credly (admin@credly.com) with instructions for claiming your badge and setting up your account.

What is the process for claiming my DRI badge?

When you’ve earned a DRI badge, you will receive an email notification alerting you to claim your badge. You will need to create an account on Credly (if you haven’t already) and confirm your email address. You will then be able to accept and share your badge.

What is Credly and what is the relationship between DRI and Credly?

Credly works with credible organizations to provide digital credentials to individuals, worldwide. DRI has partnered with Credly to recognize certifications and other learning opportunities in the form of digital badges. The technology Credly uses is based on the Open Badge Standards defined by Mozilla. This enables you to manage, share and verify your competencies digitally.

What if I do not want my DRI badge to be public?

You can easily configure your privacy settings in Credly. You’re in complete control of the information about yourself that is made public.

Is there a cost associated with claiming and displaying my DRI badge?

No. This is a service we provide to you, at no cost.

How do I prevent someone from copying and using my DRI badge?

While badges are simply digital image files, they are uniquely linked to data hosted on the Credly platform. This link to verified data makes them more reliable and secure than a paper-based certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming your credential and your associated identity.

How do I share a DRI badge on social and professional media?

It is easy to share your DRI badge on social and professional media through Credly. When you accept your badge, you’ll be brought immediately into a sharing workflow that allows you to share to Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, embed in a personal website, or share over email. You will need to connect and authorize your social media accounts through Credly in order to share to those sites.

You can share your badge at any other time by viewing your badge and clicking the blue “Share” button beneath the badge visual.

What is blockchain verification for my DRI badge?

The ability to publish digital credentials on the blockchain brings an additional level of external verification. When you choose to publish your digital badge(s) to the blockchain, it creates a permanent record of that digital credential that cannot be tampered with or removed.

Please note that publishing to the blockchain is always driven by you, the badge holder. This is accessible when you view your badge, click on the 'Share' button, and then click on the last tab option on the right hand side of the text window that has the blockchain icon.

Why does Credly need access to my LinkedIn account?

In order to share your badge to LinkedIn, LinkedIn requires an authorization process. This is required and standard for all third party programs creating a connection between the two accounts.

The LinkedIn in message you will see is predetermined by LinkedIn based on the authorization scope required to share your badge. Credly will not post to LinkedIn without your initiation or permission. Credly will only add badges to your profile or post them to your newsfeed upon request.

Note: You are also able to disconnect Credly's access to your social media account after you have successfully shared your badge to your profile or newsfeed. You can also manage Credly's connection through your privacy settings within your social media account.

How do I add an open badge to my email signature?

Adding a hyperlinked badge image to your email signature is a great way to make sure your professional network is aware of your certifications, credentials and other badge-worthy recognition. Read more on how to download your badge image and a hyperlink from Credly's share options.
