BCLE 2000 Post- DRJ - Business Continuity Planning, Accelerated
The Professional Practices for Business Continuity Professionals are defined as the skills, knowledge and procedures BC professionals need to lead a BC planning effort. This 5-day course includes 32 hours of instruction followed by the Qualifying Exam. Instructors offer a fast-paced overview of DRI International’s business continuity planning model and delineate the knowledge, skills and procedures needed to effectively execute each stage. Instructors present a case study exercise and other select exercises depending on the experience in the room.
Upon completion of the course participants will 1) be reminded of the BC planning stages and requirements to effectively implement each one; 2) confirm their understanding of industry terminology; 3) learn recent trends, and 4) be able to articulate the roles of the BC planner, business components and executive management in developing, testing and maintaining BC plans. These are essential elements of the DRI International Qualifying Examination.

BCLE-1000 - Introduction to Business Continuity Planning Intensive
The Professional Practices for Business Continuity Professionals are the skills, knowledge and procedures BC professionals must know to lead their organizations through a comprehensive BC planning process that results in an effective business continuity plan. This 10-day course includes 72 hours of instruction followed by the Qualifying Exam. Instructors take participants through DRI International’s BC planning model to illustrate the skills, knowledge and procedures required for each stage of BC planning. The course explores each planning stage in-depth using case examples, course exercises, participant work experiences and lessons learned.
Upon completion of the course participants will know: 1) the strategic purpose of each BC planning stage along with the knowledge, skills and procedures needed to accomplish it; 2) industry terminology; 3) the respective planning roles of the BC planner, the business components and senior management, and 4) resolutions to common roadblocks. These are essential elements of the DRI International Qualifying Examination. Participant feedback suggests that the BCLE -1000 course is the most comprehensive preparation for the Qualifying Exam, particularly for newcomers to the field.

BCLE 600: Developing and Implementing the Business Continuity Plan
This course is designed to cover the application of skills and information gathered in putting the BCM program into action by identifying the components of the planning process including plan methodology, implementation, organization, and documentation. In order to develop the actual BCM plan document you will need to lead your organization in several decisions on the approach, methodology and the plan document structure. We will address and discuss these issues to allow you as the planner to facilitate your organization in making these determinations. Experienced planners recognize that the plan document that best meets the needs of the organization and the personnel are most comfortable with using will be the plan document structure that is successful. This chapter will conclude with the elements of plan administration and plan documentation.

BCP-210 - Business Impact Analysis, Advanced
This course is intended for CBCPs and advanced business continuity or disaster recovery planners. Topics include the corporate contingency program and planning methodology.
Participants are introduced to the business impact analysis and the importance of this element in the functional requirements phase of corporate contingency planning. Participants learn how to plan and successfully conduct a business impact analysis project. Class participation and team utilization of ideas are emphasized.

BCW-930 - Reputation Recovery Workshop
Reputation Recovery & Business Continuity Planning is an interactive 2 ½ day workshop designed for those BCM professionals who accept the challenge to develop, manage, or execute crisis communication activities within their business continuity program. BCW-930 provides best practices, issues to consider, and classroom-based activities designed to extend the capabilities of the BCM professional to include the protection of an organization’s most valuable asset – its reputation – before, during, and after a disaster or a crisis.
This workshop will look specifically at the concept of reputation – its evolution and risk factors. It will teach the BCM planner how to plan to preserve the reputation of the organization before a disaster strikes and also how to rebuild the reputation of the organization after a disaster strikes. Through the use of an ongoing, realistic scenario, key messages will be developed, and crisis plan documents will be evaluated. The student will learn the basics of effective public relations and gain practical experience in dealing with the news media in good times and bad.

PREREQUISITE: Only professionals who have already passed the DRII Qualifying Examination, and who have a minimum of five years' of experience in seven professional practice areas, may register for the BCP-601 course and/or the Masters Case Study Examination.
DRI administers the only Masters-level professional examination in Business Continuity Planning. The Masters Case Study Examination consists of a company's business continuity planning needs covering every aspect of the ten subject areas contained in the industry's body of knowledge, the "Professional Practices for Business Continuity Planners." Students should allow 4.5 hours to complete the written exam. Successful completion of the examination, a score of 75% or better, qualifies an individual to subsequently apply for MBCP designation.
Cost of the exam is included in the cost of the BCP-601 course.
Students may also register separately. The list price for exam-only is subject to annual change: $300/first time; $50 retake within 12 months.
